Phlebodium aureum 'Davana'

Phlebodium aureum is native to the tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas. As an epiphyte it grows high up in the canopies, collecting rainwater and debris. The rarer ‘Davana’ variety has a fuzzy, golden creeping rhizome which produces those iconic ice blue fronds with more delicate frilled edges.

Watering

In S/S water when 20% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 50%. These plants love high humidity, but avoid misting directly on the leaves too much. Instead, keep the plant on/near a tray of pebbles with water.

Light requirements

Bright, indirect.

Repotting

Repot every 2-3 years when roots begin to protrude out of the drainage holes. Use a well draining house plant potting mix, with added draining medium like perlite.

Feed

Use a house plant fertiliser every month between April - September.
