Oxalis triangularis 'Mijke Ikigai'

Commonly known as False Shamrock or Purple Shamrock. Dainty, deep purple triangular leaves sit upon translucent pinkish stems. The ‘Mijke Ikigai’ cultivar of Oxalis triangularis produces leaves slightly lighter in colour, still in a charming purple shade. Look out for the delicate, pink flowers which emerge in numbers during spring. Most Oxalis are photonastic, meaning its leaves flutter open in the daylight, and fold down at night. 

Watering

In S/S water when 30% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 50%. Can go dormant during winter.

Light requirements

Bright, indirect.

Feed

Feed every 3-4 weeks during the active growing season when the plant is in leaf (March - September).

Repotting

Repot bulbs every 2-3 years to replenish the soil.
