Aloe suprafoliata

This peculiar succulent is commonly known as ‘book aloe’, for its unique leaf formation. Slim, lanceolate leaves grow to the side, layered one on top of the other like pages of a book. Thick blue-grey leaves arch at the tips, and eventually die back to  produce scarring on the stem of the plant. With maturity Aloe suprafoliata will develop the more usual rosette of leaves. 

Watering

Water when soil is 100% dry. Water lightly (if at all) during cold winter months. Aloes can be prone to rot if cold and wet at the same time.

Light requirements

Full sun.

Feed

If not repotting then you can use a well-balanced cactus feed every month from April - September.

Repotting

Repot this plant every two years to replenish the soil and to allow extra room for the roots to spread out. Use a well-draining and gritty cactus compost.
