Albuca concordiana

The native range of this bulbous geophyte is Namibia to the Cape Provinces. Perfectly coiled grey-green leaves grow from a small, spherical bulb, and when these plants enter dormancy, fragrant yellow flowers burst open from the tip of an emerging stalk. Following flowering, and once foliage withers away, refrain from watering. These little whirlwinds look adorable but they can be a little fussy, so provide them with plenty of light and dry conditions to keep those perfect curls.

Watering

Water thoroughly and regularly when soil is 100% dry during the spring/summer months. Refrain from watering during the winter months.

Light requirements

Full sun.

Feed

Use a cactus fertiliser 3 times between March - November.

Repotting

This species can live in the same pot for several years. Repotting may only be necessary once every 2-3 years (or longer), once roots begin to protrude out of the drainage holes. Use a well draining cactus compost, adding extra drainage medium such as perlite, pumice or grit.

Pot size / height

See available sizes below. Please note that, due to their natural variability, specimens' height may be within 10-20% of the stated height below.
