Alluaudia procera

Alluaudia procera is a very unique long stem succulent from Madagascar. It is covered with pairs of small round leaves and sharp spines. During the winter months this species may go dormant and shed its leaves which regrow during spring and summer.

Watering

In S/S water thoroughly only when 100% of the soil has dried out. In A/W allow soil to dry 100% - water sparingly (every two months or so). As spring approaches and the plant begins to grow leaves, gradually increase watering quantity and frequency.

Light requirements

Full sun.

Feed

Use a cactus fertiliser every 6-8 weeks between May - September.

Repotting

Re-pot every 2-3 years or when you see roots protrude from the base of the pot. Use a very free-draining cactus and succulent potting mix with additional drainage material such as gravel, pumice or perlite.
