The Rutaceae, also known as the citrus plants, are a family of flowering plants. The Rutaceae are mostly trees, their leaves contain chemicals which give the plants a distinctive aroma. Some members of the Rutaceae produce citrus fruits like oranges and lemons. The Rutaceae are widely distributed but most occur in warmer temperate regions and tropical areas.
